La Guarimba was founded by Giulio Vita, Sara Fratini and El Tornillo de Klaus, passionate about cinema fed up with always the same old festivals, where politic prevails on quality.

With passion, talent and a multi-ethnicity structure, based on meritocracy and team work, we decided to carry on this project with the aim to take the cinema to the people and the people to the cinema, putting words in to action.

In 2013 we repaired and reopened the old open cinema “Arena Sicoli”, thanks to the whole community involvement. During the first days, La Guarimba Film Festival hosted more than 5.000 people from all round the world, becoming one of the most successful events of Italian social innovation.
