WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE A GUARIMBERO INTERN IN LA GUARIMBA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL?
We would love to have you!
Learn all you need to know to organize a film festival in Southern Italy with internship positions in presence in our office, special events, marketing, translations, development, and community outreach. You will grow personally and professionally while helping us to bring the cinema back to the people and the people back to the cinema. Our internships are unpaid. However, the intern will not displace regular employees but will work under the close supervision of our existing staff.
In addition, we accept students through the Erasmus+ program. Our internships have a minimum of 2 months and the duration will depend on your needs and ours. We have three seasons: April-May, June-July, and September-November. You don’t need to speak Italian but good English or Spanish will help.
The living cost in Amantea is very low (a room can be €150- €300 and with €100 you can eat for a month) and the experience you will acquire is really valuable. You will not be bringing the coffee but you will have real tasks that will help you professionally.
Erasmus+ supports traineeships (work placements, internships, etc.) abroad for students currently enrolled in higher education institutions in Programme countries at Bachelor and Master levels as well as for doctoral candidates. These opportunities are also open to recent graduates.
The positions available are listed on this website. We are not looking for programmers or film critics.
WHO ARE WE
La Guarimba is a cultural organization situated in Amantea, Calabria (Southern Italy) that uses culture as a vehicle to promote values of participatory democracy, integration, human rights, and accessibility. Our main goal is to bring the cinema back to the people and the people back to the cinema.
OUR TRAINING METHOD
To train new team members, we use an approach that relies on gradually empowering interns through the application of nonformal education methods such as Montessori Schooling and Learning by Doing.
Interns are assigned specific tasks, supported by a mentor who follow them in their learning. As they acquire skills, they are given increasing responsibilities. This approach fosters mutual trust and encourages their autonomy and independence.
In addition to practical field training, we encourage experiential learning and skill acquisition through action. Interns are actively involved in our association’s activities, working directly on ongoing challenges and projects.
