La Scuola Guarimba was an itinerant program organized by La Guarimba Film Festival, the cultural organization created by Giulio Vita and Sara Fratini. It strove to create a nurturing platform for new professionals in the fields of independent film and illustration in which they were able to design, create, and distribute quality artistic works with limited means and resources.
The school aimed to train illustrators and filmmakers to hone their craft through participatory democracy and teamwork.
La Scuola Guarimba adopted an experimental educational approach centered around a hands-on, involved, and practical style of learning in which students are personally engaged with their projects and are able to have a continuous dialogue with their teachers and tutors.
